About Us
We preach the Word of God because our faith depends on it:
"We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ."
-Colossians 1:28
Like the name says, we are a group of believers who teach the Bible because we have faith in God and believe His Word. We are excited about being a Bible-teaching church in Spearfish, South Dakota where our main priority is to glorify God in all that we do as a church body. We strive to do this in four primary ways.
Exalt Jesus Christ
First, we strive to exalt God for who He is, for what He has done, and for what He will do in the future. He is the passion of our lives. He deserves all of our affection and adoration. Therefore, exalting Jesus Christ is one of our primary purposes and greatest joys. Thus, when we gather we aim to exalt our Lord Jesus Christ through worshipful music, sacrificial giving, prayer, and the preaching of His Word.
Exposit God's Word
Secondly, we are committed to learning the truth of God's Word because we believe that God's Word is critical to our faith as believers: “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ" (Rom 10:17). God's Word is how we first come to know and trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and God's Word is the means by which we grow and mature in our faith. Therefore, while we strive to be a loving and gracious people, we equally strive to be a Bible-teaching church which is firmly committed to teaching the life-transforming power of God's Word through verse-by-verse exposition.
Edify God's People
Third, we desire to edify (build up) God’s people in their most precious faith. Edification is an important aspect of the Christian life. Thus, we gather together to glorify God by building ourselves up in the faith (Eph 4:13-16), by hearing the teaching of God’s Word (2 Tim 4:2), by fellowship, by celebrating the Lord’s Supper, and by prayer (Acts 2:42). Our greatest joy is to come together as a corporate body for the purpose of stimulating one another to love and good works (Heb 10:24-25).
Evangelize the Lost
Last, because of the joy and forgiveness we have been given in Christ, we desire to share the good news of Jesus Christ by witness and word with people in the community and around the world. We long for others to experience the joy of forgiveness and salvation that is found in Christ Jesus alone. We consider evangelizing those without Christ an instruction clearly taught in the Bible as well as a great privilege (Mat 28:18-19).
So, if you are looking for a church home with a group of redeemed sinners who want to live for Christ and know and worship Him more fully, have questions regarding Christ's message of hope, or desire to know more about our church, please contact us. We would love the opportunity to get to know and serve you in any way we can.
